Technical
Performances
are enhanced by high quality, compact sound reinforcement and digital
audio processing equipment. Jeff has carefully selected the
most
modern technology to deliver a high-caliber sound that never overwhelms
the listener. He arrives fully equipped with sound and
lighting
but requires only a small footprint of floor space for set up
(approximately 7’ x 7’).
Looping
One of the more unique aspects of
Jeff's work is his use of digital looping technology. A
looper is a foot-activated device capable of simultaneous record and
playback. By recording on-the-fly and adding parts as he goes,
Jeff performs with far more energy, depth, and complexity than might be
expected from a typical solo guitarist/vocalist. Jeff loops
live, on-stage, and in real-time. There are no backing tracks and
nothing is prepared in advance. Without sacrificing the unplugged
character of acoustic guitar performance, looping adds a dynamic
dimension to Jeff's work that audiences across Northeast Ohio have
found satisfying and interesting.
Loudspeakers
Jeff
is extremely sensitive to the importance of performing at appropriate
volume levels and for this reason has chosen the Mackie SRM-350
loudspeaker for sound reinforcement. Although small in size,
these speakers deliver exceptional fidelity with a wide dispersion that
is ideal for most venues. They provide excellent room
coverage
without the need to overpower patrons seated nearby.

Processing
Accurately
reinforcing the natural sounds of a guitar’s wood and steel
is a
technical challenge. Jeff uses LR Baggs pick-ups for capture
and
a variety of Carl Martin products for digital signal
processing.
Made in Denmark to the highest specifications, Carl Martin devices
deliver studio quality fidelity in a pedal format. The result
is
a warm, natural, stereo sound that has clarity and presence.
